How to build a character, read the sheet, and roll dice.
Start a character from the Creator. It walks through Setting, Species, Career, Skills, Talents, and Gear, tracking your XP as you spend it. You can browse and build without an account — signing in is only needed to save.
Your dashboard lists every character tied to your account — pick one to open its sheet: characteristics, wound/strain thresholds, skills, talents, and motivations. Equipment and inventory live on their own tab alongside it.
The Genesys dice pool combines characteristic + skill rank. Roll it from a skill on the sheet, or open the dice tray directly. Success/ Failure and Advantage/Threat cancel out pairwise across the whole pool; Triumph and Despair are rare bonus symbols that also count toward the tally.
Success
Cancels a Failure. Net positive = you succeed.
Failure
Cancels a Success. Net positive = you fail.
Advantage
Cancels a Threat. Minor positive complications on top of the result.
Threat
Cancels an Advantage. Minor negative complications on top of the result.
Triumph
Also counts as a Success. A rare, dramatic win.
Despair
Also counts as a Failure. A rare, dramatic setback.
The tray also enables a Force die on characters from settings that use one:
Light Side
Light-side pips, for settings that use the Force die.
Dark Side
Dark-side pips, for settings that use the Force die.
Signing in is required to save a character and to view its sheet — characters are tied to the account that created them and aren't visible to anyone else.
